OpenProtect email filtering made easy !

  • Q: Please remove me from your mailing list
  • We don’t run a mailing list. OpenProtect, our email filtering software has been installed in your sender’s mail servers and it is tagging mails as being scanned by OpenProtect. If the mails are unsolicited or spam mails, please report them to your mail server admin, ISP or email service provider as applicable.
  • Q: Why is OpenProtect rejecting my email ?
  • Q: Why is OpenProtect altering my email ?
  • Q: Why is OpenProtect / openprotect.com spamming me?
  • Q: Can you release my mail/attachments blocked by OpenProtect?
  • OpenProtect is an email filter software which is installed on mail servers to filter out spam and viruses.

The OpenProtect developer team are in no way associated with the email. We never send any spam or unsolicited email !

It simply means that your internet / email provider, or the internet / email Provider of the sender or recipient, is using OpenProtect software to scan for viruses and spam.

Although we developed OpenProtect, it is your email server or the senders’ or recipients’ email server which has OpenProtect installed, and we have no control over the way it is used or configured. Sorry :(

So if you want your original mail or attachments, please ask your domain’s or sender domain’s postmaster or mail server admin to release your mail, depending on where OpenProtect is installed. You can find out the server name from the line in the warning/report like this:

Note to Help Desk: Look on Hostname in /var/spool/MailScanner/quarantine/20090407 (message ABCD3KFHS).

The bolded Hostname is the server where OpenProtect is installed and your mail is quarantined there. Forwarding this warning to the postmaster or mail server admin should help them identify the mail and release it.
